This explains what we collect when you use BuildMeAfrica, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We never sell your data.
What we collect
Your account: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
Your projects: what you ask the AI to build, the chat with it, and the sites it makes.
Payments: the plan, amount and Paystack reference. Your card or Mobile Money details go straight to Paystack; we never see or store them.
If your site takes orders: the details your customers enter in your site's forms, which only you and your workspace can see.
Visits to published sites
We count visits to sites built on BuildMeAfrica so their owners can see how many people visit. We record the day, the page's site, the kind of device, the country and where the visitor came from. We don't use cookies for this and we don't keep IP addresses; visitors are counted with a code that changes every day and can't be traced back to a person.
Who we share it with
Only the services we need to run BuildMeAfrica: our hosting and database providers, Paystack for payments, and our AI provider (Anthropic) to build your site from your messages. Our AI provider does not use your messages to train its models.
We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and projects while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your projects and personal data within 30 days, except payment records we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your personal data. Email us and we'll do it.
